I like to explore different varieties for my dinner so I tried pasta this time. Pasta is famous Italian food, it is usually served with different sauce that is the base taste, be it tomato, cheese, Basil and many more.Various combination of Pasta shape & sauce yields a good one. Pasta has various shapes,to name few…Penne, spaghetti,spiral, shell shape,. The recipe that i tried was for penne.I thought usually we have pasta with various base sauce, has excess toor dal boiled for the day. My mind suggested to try the combination…….Pasta with Toor Dal……
Cooking Time – 30 Min
Servings – 2
- Toor Dal :1/2 cup
- Penne Pasta : 100 gms
- Onion :1 medium
- Green chillies: 4 (depends on taste)
- Tomato: 1 medium
- Coriander powder : 1/2 tsp
- Garam masala : 1/2 tsp
- Curry Leaves and Coriander Leaves
- Oil : 2 tsp
- Salt To taste.
How To Boil pasta :
Take water in a vessel and Warm it for 5 to 10 Min once it get boiled add pasta.The amount of water depends on pasta, water should cover pasta and not more than that and boil it till water get immerse fully, in between check pasta and water level if pasta is not cooked add little water and boil again.The pasta size will double to it’s original size after cooked.Add little Salt when boiling for salt.
Heat One Non-Stick pan add oil followed by cumin seeds, Once it crackls then add Curry leave,Green Chillies,Onion’s fry it till onion’s turned to Golden brown colour then add tomato’s and cook it for 2 Min.In the mean time take dal from the cooker and smash it nicely, add this dal to that onion tomato gravy, little garam masala, coriander powder,Salt to it then cook it for 5min.
At last add Boiled pasta to Dal, mix it nicely and let it cook for 3Min…….. that’s it our spicy Daal pasta is ready.

How To Serve :
while serving garnish with coriander leaves and serve with Tomato sauce.serve in hot hot……
